• This 8-hour Competent Person level course covers the OSHA 1926 Subpart AA Confined Spaces in Construction Standard. Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to compare and contrast the differences between 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA, Confined Spaces in Construction, and EM 385-1-1, Section 34 (2024), prioritize safe production using the approved methods for identifying, analyzing, planning, and managing confined space entry, implement the required duties and responsibilities of a Competent Person, assess and classify confined spaces using approved methods, conduct atmospheric monitoring with calibrated direct reading instrumentation, identify hazards and take immediate corrective action.
• Attendance for the entire session is mandatory.
• Assessment is based on participation and demonstration of understanding.
• There are no prerequisites for this course.
• No technology is required for in-person attendance. A working computer with a microphone and a camera "on" is required for the virtual sessions.
